Shelby Lin

Shelby LinShelby Lin, who was born in California, was a concentrator in Applied Mathematics. She lived in Adam House. Granted sophomore standing when she entered Harvard, she chose to spend what would have been her junior year doing full-time research in Harvard's Lab for Economic Application and Policy. She has done extensive research on a number of aspects of income mobility in the US, and for her senior thesis did research on health disparities. A member of Harvard Varsity Women's Rugby team, she was selected in 2011 as an All-Star for the Northeast Rugby Conference, in 2012 for the All-Ivy League, and in 2013 was starting scrumhalf for the inaugural Ivy League Division I Varsity women's rugby program. She led after-school environmental programs at local elementary schools, and was a summer intern at the US Fish and Wildlife Service. At Cambridge, she pursued an MPhil in Management Science and Operations as the Shirley Scholar at Pembroke College.
