Evon Thompson
Evon Thompson concentrated in Neuroscience with a secondary in Global Health & Health Policy. A native of Orlando, Florida, Evon lived in Pforzheimer House and devoted his time at Harvard to community engagement and global health research. He has worked on global health projects examining social and behavioral determinants of HIV care engagement among migrant men in South Africa and conducted health policy fieldwork in Chile. Motivated to understand the social drivers of health and their impacts on development, Evon researched how early-life stressors during pregnancy affect neurodevelopment at the MGH Lurie Center for Autism. Outside the lab, he mentored local high school students through the Harvard Radcliffe Institute’s Emerging Leaders Program, volunteered at the Y2Y Harvard Square shelter, and chaired events with the Harvard Caribbean Club. At Cambridge, Evon will pursue an MPhil in Population Health Sciences as the Governor William Shirley Scholar at Pembroke College.
