Gabriella Foulkes graduated with a double concentration in Physics and Chemistry, a secondary in Philosophy, and a language citation in Modern Standard Arabic. At Harvard, she studied abroad in Jordan, contributed to research in neuroscience, biochemistry, and materials science, and served as the Publisher of the Harvard Political Review. Her senior thesis, advised by Professor Julia Mundy, deepened her interest in quantum materials. While at Cambridge, she will continue her studies, conducting research on superconducting spintronics through an MPhil in Physics. She is dedicated to the responsible pursuit of scientific innovation and intends to develop new materials for low-power electronics.

Outside of academics, Ella enjoys dancing with the Harvard-Radcliffe Modern Dance Company, making ceramics, reading science fiction (Ursula K. Le Guin and Octavia Butler are her favorites), and cooking soup with her older sister, Sophie. As she prepares for her move to Cambridge, she is spending her summer working on a peony farm in Willow, Alaska, and training to bike across portions of the U.K.
