Dhruv Goel, originally from Mumbai, India, pursued a double concentration in Mathematics and Germanic Languages and Literatures at Harvard, with a secondary in Music. His academic focus was algebraic and differential geometry, in which he conducted research through the HCRP, PRISE, and Herchel Smith Programs. Dhruv's senior thesis on the Atiyah-Singer Index Theorem earned him the departmental Friends Prize and university-wide Hoopes and Fay Prizes. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and received the David Mumford Prize in 2024. As a former co-president of Harvard’s Gender Inclusivity in Mathematics, Dhruv is dedicated to advancing representation in the field. Beyond mathematics, Dhruv served as a Ferris Fellow in the University Choir, and composed and conducted a setting of Wordsworth’s I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud for the Harvard Glee Club, which was performed across Europe and in Sanders Theatre. Dhruv also engaged in musical outreach through MIHNUET and PBHA’s HARMONY programs.

A fan of The Lord of the Rings and Black Mirror, Dhruv enjoys nature and time with his pets. He will attend Cambridge for Part III of the Mathematical Tripos as the Lt. Charles Fiske III Scholar at Trinity College.
